South Korean rapper MC Mong, who once co-founded the company “One Hundred Label” with representative Cha Ga-won, was forced out of the company overnight amid a string of personal life controversies. Recently, he was accused of letting three female nightclub promoters, accompanied by a broker, enter his home and turning it into a den of debauchery, but he later denied the claims, saying “they are just friends.” On the 18th, MC Mong hit back at Cha Ga-won with explosive counter-accusations, dragging in claims of illegal gambling connected to Cha Ga-won. He even implicated Kim Min-jong—the male star of the K-drama “A Gentleman’s Dignity”—as being involved in a gambling ring worth billions of Korean won (around MYR 260,000), shocking the entertainment world.
MC Mong said he had received information exposing that Cha Ga-won and her brother-in-law were involved in illegal gambling activities with sums exceeding billions of Korean won, “engaging in illegal gambling together several times a week, and each session involving more than a billion won.” In his livestream, MC Mong directly named Kim Min-jong as one of those involved in the gambling, making the shocking statement that “there are two more entertainers” involved.
After suddenly being named by MC Mong, Kim Min-jong urgently appointed a lawyer on the 19th to refute the claims, saying, “this is clearly a false rumor,” and angrily stating that the livestream content and news reports were all indiscriminate malicious defamation. He said that the psychological distress and damage to his social reputation are already irreparable. The lawyer stated, “In order to prove his innocence, Kim Min-jong will not make any compromises and will confront this head-on.” He again denied the content of MC Mong’s livestream and said evidence would be collected and the facts clarified. If necessary, both criminal and civil lawsuits would be filed to meet these accusations head-on. #
