Another Air India Incident: Cabin Temperature Too High, Emergency Landing

Air India (Air India) continues to experience ongoing issues. On the 29th, a flight made an emergency landing at Kolkata Airport during its journey due to "excessive cabin temperature" for safety reasons.

This plane, like Air India Flight 171—which crashed on the 12th of this month causing a total of 260 deaths both onboard and on the ground—was also a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

The AI357 flight was originally scheduled to fly from Tokyo to New Delhi, India's capital. After taking off from Tokyo, the temperature inside the cabin kept rising, prompting the crew to take responsive measures. Considering passenger comfort and safety, and as a precaution, the captain decided to divert to Kolkata.

Air India expressed regret over the disruption of this flight and apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers.

On the 27th, an Air India flight from Mumbai to Bangkok was delayed for nearly five hours due to hay getting stuck in the wing; on the 28th, a Mumbai-to-Chennai flight returned to Mumbai after a burnt smell appeared in the cabin, and the flight was ultimately cancelled.

In recent years, Air India's frequent incidents have raised passenger concerns about its safety. Air India stated, “We are conducting a comprehensive review of our operating procedures to address these recurring issues. The company is committed to taking all necessary measures to avoid operational disruptions and will improve services in the coming months.”
