Record-Breaking Fundraiser for Domestic Violence Victims: Former England Women's Footballer Runs 3,800km Across Australia

Published at Jun 30, 2025 01:59 pm
Former England women's footballer Fran Hurndall has accomplished an incredible feat — successfully running from Perth on Australia's west coast to Sydney on the east in just 60 days, covering more than 3,800 kilometers, and claims to have broken the women's speed record for completing this route.

According to AFP, 33-year-old Hurndall undertook the journey to raise funds for victims of domestic violence. Throughout the process she endured challenges such as Achilles tendon pain and blister infections, ultimately completing the challenge.

In a statement, Hurndall said: “This has been a crazy journey, putting both my body and mind through incredible tests. But what I’ve endured is nothing compared to what women living under the shadow of domestic violence have to face every day.”

Her team pointed out that Hurndall completed the same route a full 17 days faster than another woman who finished it in 2023. She now plans to apply to have this achievement listed in the Guinness World Records.
