The Civil Defence Force today launched the first phase of the "Care Action" (Op Prihatin), aimed at promoting the attitude of helping citizens through the humanitarian services of the Civil Defence Force in conjunction with the Chinese New Year.
The Vice Chairman (Management) of the Force, Dato' Ismail, said that "Care Action" is the successor to "Help Action" (Op Bantu) launched in 2020 and 2021, and was innovated in 2022 by expanding the scope of the Civil Defence Force's authority to introduce "Care Action."
He stated that the Care Action involves up to 1,416 personnel, including 14 state civil defence office personnel and 118 district civil defence office personnel, as well as civil defence unit personnel from across the country.
"This year's Care Action is divided into two phases, with the first phase commencing from January 25 to February 2, coinciding with the upcoming Chinese New Year; the second phase from March 29 to April 6, coinciding with Eid al-Fitr."
He made this statement after attending the launch of the Care Action at the Petronas station in Taman Putra Budiman, Balakong.
Ismail said that the services provided during the Care Action include humanitarian services such as fallen tree removal, traffic accident response, repair of minor damages, and consultations on treatment measures or civil defence knowledge for the community.
"Additionally, the Civil Defence Force will patrol on specific days at places where the public gathers, as well as at tourist attractions, shopping centers, places of worship, and other locations with similar characteristics."
Ismail reminded the public to remain vigilant during the Northeast Monsoon period, from last November until this March, by closely monitoring weather forecasts and alerts issued by the Meteorological Department through various channels.
