The US government on Monday (June 30) issued a 'violation notice' to Harvard University, accusing the school of mishandling incidents involving alleged discrimination against Jewish students on campus, and threatening that if the university does not make the required corrections, it will lose all federal funding support.

A joint task force to combat antisemitism, comprised of multiple US federal agencies, stated in the notice that it has completed its investigation into allegations that Harvard University was tolerating 'antisemitic' behavior, and found the university to be in serious violation of civil rights law.

The notice further warned that if the university does not immediately implement the required corrections, it will lose all federal financial resources, and its relationship with the federal government will be further affected.

In recent months, the US government has accused Harvard University of tolerating 'antisemitism' and has already slashed billions of dollars in research funding for the university.

The joint task force to combat antisemitism was established in February of this year under an executive order by Trump. Its members come from federal agencies including the US Department of Justice, Department of Education, and Department of Health and Human Services. The group's main task is to rectify so-called antisemitism issues on campuses at all levels across the United States.
