Brunei Tourism Wins Multiple ASEAN Awards, Sustainability Services Highly Recognized

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 1st) The ASEAN Tourism Standards Awards ceremony was recently held with grandeur, aiming to recognize and acknowledge the tourism industry's outstanding achievements in adhering to quality standards, promoting sustainable practices, and showcasing excellence. The event further seeks to elevate service standards and competitiveness of ASEAN as a high-quality tourism destination. The ceremony took place last Friday in Cebu City, Philippines, in conjunction with the 2026 ASEAN Tourism Forum.
The awards for Bruneian recipients were personally presented by the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism, Manap.
In the "ASEAN Green Hotel Award" category, Radisson Hotel Brunei was recognized for its commitment to promoting sustainable hotel management.
In addition, several Bruneian venues won distinctions in the ASEAN MICE Venue Award. Among them, An-Naura Hall, the Mutiara Ballroom at Radisson Hotel Brunei, and the Indera Samudra Grand Hall at The Empire Brunei received awards in the Meeting Room Category; while the Indera Samudra Grand Hall at The Empire Brunei and BRIDEX International Conference Centre were honored in the Exhibition Venue Category.

In terms of sustainable tourism, Brunei also demonstrated outstanding results. The Mangrove River Adventure launched by Freme Travel Services won the ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Award, standing out in the Eco-Tourism Destination Theme & Package – Urban Product category; meanwhile, Discover Temburong and the Canopy Walk Tower were also commended in the Eco-Tourism Destination Theme – Rural Product category.
These awards fully showcase Brunei's commitment to providing international travelers with high-quality tourism experiences, and its continued progress towards becoming an attractive, top-tier tourism destination. Such achievements also align with the goals set out in the Brunei Darussalam Tourism Development Roadmap 2024–2035, supporting the growth, sustainability, and long-term competitiveness of the national tourism industry.
