ASEAN School Games to be Held in Brunei This November: 10 Nations to Compete in 8 Sports, Gathering Over a Thousand Student Athletes

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 17th) The 14th ASEAN School Games will be grandly held in Brunei from November 20 to 28, 2025, where student athletes from ten countries will compete on the same stage.

The participating countries include Brunei (host), Indonesia, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam.

This edition features a total of eight sports events, namely badminton, basketball, athletics, swimming, netball, silat, sepak takraw, and wushu. It is expected that 1,055 student athletes will take part, among which the Brunei delegation will send 153 competitors to vie for awards.

Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education, Shan Lana Yuzulaini, pointed out at a recent press conference that the Games aim to promote unity among ASEAN youth through school sports, provide a platform for student athletes to showcase their sporting talents, and create opportunities for inter-regional exchange and cultural interaction.

She said that the opening ceremony will be held at the National Indoor Stadium on November 20, featuring multicultural performances symbolizing ASEAN unity and youthful vitality.
