The UAE is reportedly providing free access to ChatGPT Plus for all its citizens and residents, making it the first country globally to do so, as part of the 'Stargate UAE' initiative. This project not only involves a collaboration between OpenAI and G42 but also includes Oracle, NVIDIA, Cisco, and SoftBank in the infrastructure and network architecture.
According to reports, OpenAI will build an AI data center in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, with a total capacity of 5 gigawatts, covering an area of about 10 square miles, and consuming electricity equivalent to five nuclear power plants. It will become the largest known AI data center globally and the first 'Stargate' project outside the USA.
In addition, UAE residents will not only receive free access to ChatGPT Plus but will also have access to customized AI tools adapted for Arabic language and local regulations in the future.
