(Miri, 20th) In preparation for a series of upcoming sports events and related activities, the Miri City Council has announced that three facilities within the Fan-Shaped Park will be temporarily closed this weekend and early next month, and the public is advised to take note.
Firstly, in conjunction with the upcoming "Miri Traffic Games" event, the Traffic Garden and Pickleball Court in the Fan-Shaped Park will be temporarily closed from August 21 to 22, 2026 (this Friday to Saturday). The closure will begin at 7:30 am on those days and last until the event ends. The City Council urges the public not to visit these two areas during the specified period to avoid affecting the event.
Pump Track and Adjacent Parking Area: Closed in Early September
On the other hand, to prepare for the "2026 Velosolutions UCI Pump Track World Championship Qualifier," the Velosolutions Pump Track and its adjacent parking area within the Fan-Shaped Park will be temporarily closed from September 2 to 6, 2026. This is to ensure smooth preparation and safety during the event period.
The City Council stated that the temporary closure of the above facilities is necessary and sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause the public. They call on all citizens and park users for understanding and cooperation to jointly support the forthcoming events and activities.
