(Zhejiang, 12th) Typhoon 'Bavi' made landfall again in Yueqing City, Zhejiang Province, China, resulting in the planned cancellation of 653 inbound and outbound flights at Shanghai’s two major airports.

According to reports from CCTV News and The Paper, this year's 9th typhoon 'Bavi' center made landfall again at approximately midnight on Sunday (July 12), along the coast of Qingjiang Town, Yueqing City, Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. Previously, the typhoon had made its first landfall in Taizhou.

At the time of landfall, the maximum wind force near the center was at level 13 (38 meters/second), and the minimum central pressure was 960 hPa.

Party and government leaders from multiple prefecture-level cities and counties in Zhejiang delivered emergency televised addresses for typhoon prevention.

Zhang Wenjie, Deputy Secretary of the Wenzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC and Mayor, called on all citizens in a televised address on Saturday (July 11) to mobilize urgently and quickly engage in flood and typhoon prevention efforts to face the severe test of strong winds and heavy rainfall together.

Wang Jian, Secretary of Taizhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, reminded citizens in an emergency televised address to closely monitor the typhoon’s movement and to firmly overcome complacency and luck mentality.

Shen Mingquan, Deputy Secretary and Acting Mayor of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee, reminded citizens to halt all kinds of high-altitude and outdoor work, open-air group activities, and large indoor gatherings, and for outdoor personnel to stay away from high structures and hazardous buildings.

Neighboring Shanghai is also stepping up efforts to respond to the typhoon. The Flood Control Command announced that, as of 21:00 on the 11th, a total of 299,700 people have been relocated in Shanghai, and 905 flood control and disaster shelter sites have been activated.

According to the official WeChat account 'Shanghai Airport Group,' due to the impact of Typhoon 'Bavi,' the transit capacity of Shanghai Pudong and Hongqiao Airports will decrease on July 12, with nearly 30% of inbound and outbound flights adjusted or cancelled.

The two airports plan to cancel a total of 653 inbound and outbound flights, including 458 at Pudong Airport and 195 at Hongqiao Airport.
