On the 28th, two helicopters collided midair in New Jersey, USA, resulting in one death and one person critically injured.
The US Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement that at around 11:25 a.m. that day, a midair collision involving helicopters occurred near Hamilton Municipal Airport. At the time of the incident, both helicopters had only the pilots onboard.
Video from the scene shows one helicopter spinning rapidly and crashing to the ground.
Hamilton Township Police Chief Friel said that after receiving a report of the incident, firefighters rushed to the scene and, together with the police, extinguished flames on the fuselage of one of the helicopters.
Friel stated that the Federal Aviation Administration has classified the crash as a midair collision and will launch an investigation.
