The 'God of Songs' Jacky Cheung’s “60+” world tour lasted for 2 years and 7 months, amounting to a total of 324 shows, and recently concluded smoothly at the Hong Kong Coliseum. During this tour, as Jacky Cheung passionately performed his love song “Waiting for You Till My Heart Aches,” the giant screen behind him unexpectedly showed Golden Horse Best Actress Shu Qi. Today (30th), Shu Qi posted a thousand-word essay on social media, emotionally confessing her eternal admiration for superstar Jacky Cheung. She revealed that she has been his fan for over 30 years, and shared the story of her dream coming true when collaborating with her idol at the age of 22.

Shu Qi recalled arriving in Hong Kong in early 1997 to advance her career, finding herself extremely busy at work. On her birthday that year, her manager mysteriously arranged a surprise, taking her to watch Jacky Cheung’s musical “Snow Wolf Lake” at the Hong Kong Coliseum. It was her first time ever entering the venue, and seeing her idol sing and act brilliantly on stage moved her deeply. “To me at that time, it truly felt like I would have no regrets in this lifetime.”

What she will never forget is that after the show, she was taken backstage to meet her idol. Shu Qi described being stunned and dazed, saying it was the first time seeing a “living, breathing real person.” Upon learning it was her birthday, Jacky Cheung specially gave her roses and apples to wish her a happy birthday, leaving her frozen in surprise. Looking back at the photo afterward, she laughed and teased herself for her youthful appearance back then, saying, “That was my very first and most adorable keepsake with my idol.”

Shu Qi said with a smile that she has been “a fan for over 30 years,” deeply captivated by Jacky Cheung’s voice starting from the heartbreak in “Goodbye Kiss” and the fluttering feelings in “Love Letter.” In her youth, she even dreamt about being in love with her idol, and would wake up surrounded by happiness for days. She confessed she was also a crazy superfan, and never imagined that years later, Jacky Cheung would personally invite her to film a short movie for his concert. The storyline of the movie even echoed the dream she once had as a girl. She revealed that while wearing a wedding dress, listening to “Your Name, My Surname,” and watching Jacky Cheung stand tall in a suit reaching out his hand, she nearly fainted from excitement inside, only completing the shoot by relying on professionalism to contain her emotions.

In fact, this was a special video jointly filmed by Jacky Cheung and Shu Qi for this concert. In the video, Jacky Cheung is dressed in a suit while Shu Qi appears in a gorgeous white wedding gown, and the on-screen couple finally becomes a real pair. This is a renewed collaboration between Shu Qi and Jacky Cheung especially for this concert. Back in 2012, Shu Qi also appeared in a video for Jacky Cheung’s “Half Century Tour.” Ten years later, the two teamed up again, continuing their shared history.

In her emotional confession, Shu Qi said that from idolizing her favorite star in her youth to being able to collaborate with him multiple times today feels like a dream come true, making her cherish even more the luck and achievements along the way. In the end, she humorously looked forward to perhaps one day in the future, even her AI robot could receive a new invitation from Jacky Cheung and continue to create touching memories through his music.
