8TV’s music exchange program “The Best of Us” Season 3 makes a lively comeback. Following the enthusiastic response to the previous season, the show once again enters campuses to hold three LIVE music concerts. The second stop recently took place at UOW Malaysia, themed “A Circle Away from Home: Can You See Through It?”, assembling multiple local and internationally developing singers to share the stage and spark new fire. In addition to the regular powerful voices of Kael (许佳麟), Jeryl Lee (李佩玲), and Danny Lee (刘汉杰), the line-up also featured Liu Jun (刘隽), who is active in China, Cai Mingren (蔡明仁) who is developing in Taiwan, as well as Guo Xiaodong (郭晓东) and Layla Sania (蕾拉).
Having gained huge popularity from participating in the Chinese talent show “Youth With You 3”, Liu Jun stepped onto the show’s stage back in Malaysia for the first time and candidly expressed his nerves: “It’s my first time performing publicly in my hometown, so I’m really nervous. I hope to be invited back more often in the future and look forward to collaborating with more local singers.” Veteran Guo Xiaodong, who debuted 16 years ago, immediately expressed his desire to collaborate in dance with Liu Jun, and joked that he only just realized he’s the “most senior artist” on the show: “I really am a ‘senior’, thank you to the production team for making me feel younger. I get to learn and interact with everyone.”
Another “veteran singer,” Kael (许佳麟), had quite a few firsts this time—not only did he perform with Jeryl Lee and Danny Lee on stage, but also took on the challenge of rapping. As a three-season veteran of the show, he especially praised Jeryl Lee’s powerful and moving vocals: “During rehearsal, whenever Jeryl Lee sang, the whole room would instantly quiet down, stunned by her voice!” Jeryl Lee was also encouraged by the audience to sing a snippet from “Brave” live, her powerful vocals winning applause.
It was also announced at the press conference that after Nicholas Teo (张栋梁), who recently returned to Malaysia for a concert, has confirmed joining the grand finale of “The Best of Us” Season 3 in November, sisters Jess Lee (李佳薇) and Jeryl Lee Pei Ling (李佳欢) will also participate. The three of them sent messages to fans via VCR, inviting everyone to attend and support. Other celebrities present at the press conference included Pong Pung Yu (庞琂予), Huang Shiqi (黄诗琦), He Menyu (何芠砡), Jestinna Kuan, and others.
