(Miri, 4th) Good news from Lianlu Secondary School: Two Lian Zhong female athletes, Stace and Zhang Yu'en, will represent Sarawak and travel to Haikou, China, from February 5th to 10th to compete in the Asian Beach Volleyball Championship (Haikou, China leg), aiming to bring honor to the state and the school.
Among them, Zhang Yu'en is a student of the graduating class of 2025. On the eve of her departure, she specially hand-knitted a volleyball and presented it to Principal Jiang Peijuan, Vice Principal Kang Yaxiong, and coach Lee Shihao to express her gratitude for the school's long-term support and attentive nurturing. The knitted ball also carries her blessings for the upcoming competition, hoping to bring good luck for herself and her teammate.
Principal Jiang Peijuan expressed great satisfaction and high praise for the two students representing the school and Sarawak. She said: “Being able to compete on an Asian stage is proof of both strength and perseverance. I hope you give your all in every match, enjoy every contest, and bravely face the challenges.”
Principal Jiang also especially recognized coach Lee Shihao for his years of dedication to volleyball. She pointed out that the coach has wholeheartedly guided students in terms of technical skills, but has also painstakingly cultivated their character and attitude, making him an important support for the players’ steady growth on the court. The school also hopes Coach Lee will continue to utilize his professionalism and experience, leading his players to remain calm, perform at their best on the international stage, and ultimately achieve victory.
Principal Jiang further encouraged the two athletes: “No matter the outcome, play with the Lian Zhong spirit—resilience, never giving up, respect for opponents, and self-surpassing. The school will always be proud of you, and looks forward to your safe return and to sharing your valuable competition experience.”
The school also sincerely wishes Stace and Zhang Yu'en a triumphant and outstanding performance at the Asian Beach Volleyball Championship. Under the leadership of coach Lee Shihao, may they bring further glory to Sarawak and Lianlu Secondary School.
