(Kuala Lumpur, 4th) Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today called on all parties to refrain from taking any action or making any statements regarding the issue between Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) and Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (Petros) in the interest of maintaining mutual benefits.
In a Facebook post, Anwar said that the federal government and the Sarawak state government would initiate further discussions immediately after Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg returns from London. These discussions aim to finalize matters related to Petronas and Petros.
“Yesterday, I had the opportunity to discuss Petronas and Petros matters with Sarawak Premier Abang Johari, based on the consensus previously reached,” Anwar stated.
“I firmly believe that as long as we uphold healthy and meaningful dialogue, this issue can be resolved prudently and appropriately.”
