China's e-commerce market is booming, and on the 29th, Fortune magazine announced the 2025 Global 500 companies list, with the top spot claimed by American multinational retail corporation Walmart. Chinese e-commerce platform 'JD.com' ranks 44th. Notably, amidst the global AI wave, Chinese tech giant Huawei climbed back into the top 100 with a ranking of 83, an improvement of 20 positions from 2024.

According to a report by Chinese media outlet Sina Finance on the 29th, Fortune magazine has released its 2025 Global 500 ranking. The total assets and net assets of the 500 listed companies have reached the highest level since the inception of the Global 500 list. Looking closely at the list, Walmart claims the championship, followed by American multinational e-commerce company Amazon in second place, while China's state-owned State Grid Corporation is third.

Among other well-known Chinese enterprises, one of e-commerce's 'big three', JD.com, takes 44th place; state-owned telecom China Mobile is ranked 58th; and e-commerce group Alibaba is 63rd—all making it into the top 100. In addition, after a two-year hiatus, Chinese tech and chip giant Huawei has returned to the top 100 at 83rd place, up 20 spots compared to 2024.

Furthermore, Sina Finance also reports that the Huawei Mate 80 series smartphones will be equipped for the first time with the brand-new Kirin 9030 chip. Despite facing US export restrictions, Huawei is still regarded as one of China's most promising local suppliers in the AI chip field. Moreover, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, in a Bloomberg interview in May, admitted that Huawei has made 'rapid progress' in recent years and affirmed Huawei's capabilities.
