(Bandar Seri Begawan, 31st) The Royal Brunei Police Force recently held a two-day effective basic training course on Neighborhood Watch (PK) at the multi-function hall of the BANGAR Town Indigenous Complex Building, followed by a closing ceremony and certificate presentation.
A total of 31 participants joined the course, including village heads from Mukim and Village, government officials, private sector employees, and residents who have registered with the Neighborhood Watch program under the Tutong District jurisdiction.
The closing ceremony was presided over by the Acting Commanding Officer of the Tutong District Police Division, Deputy Superintendent of Police Samsul Arifin, who personally awarded participation certificates to the participants. Officials from the Tutong District Police Division and the Public Relations Office of the Royal Brunei Police Force, acting as the secretariat and course coordination unit, also attended in support.
During the course, participants listened to briefings from various enforcement and government agencies, including the State Attorney's Office, the Islamic Affairs Department, the Anti-Narcotics Bureau, the Customs and Tax Department, and the Department of Safety and Welfare of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The course aims to enhance the Neighborhood Watch participants' understanding and awareness of law enforcement work, helping them perform their duties more effectively. Additionally, the course establishes a platform for communication and cooperation between the Royal Brunei Police Force and the community, strengthening collaboration in crime prevention and combating.
The police expressed hope that such training would further promote the core objectives of the Neighborhood Watch program, fostering community safety and social harmony through the participation of all citizens.
