(Thailand, 17th) The Agricultural Research Development Agency (Arda) of Thailand has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with five universities to promote low-carbon development in major crop and livestock agriculture.
This agreement was signed on August 8 in Bangkok, with participating parties including Chiang Mai University (CMU), Khon Kaen University (KKU), Srinakharinwirot University (SU), Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU), and King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT).
In addition, the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) is also participating in the initiative, providing technical guidance on greenhouse gas measurement, verification, and carbon reduction standards to align with Thailand’s climate strategy and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Chiang Mai University Vice President and project director Thanyanupap Anantana stated that the goal of the initiative is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the agricultural sector by at least 10% by 2027.
