Miri Car-Free Day Takes Place This Saturday – Multiple Activities to Promote Green Transportation

(Miri, 20th) The Miri City Council will be organizing the '2025 Miri Car-Free Day' event this Saturday (August 23) from 7am to 10am. During this period, Jalan Bandaraya in front of the City Council building to Jalan Marina Utama will be temporarily closed. The public is urged to plan their journeys in advance to avoid any inconvenience.

The aim of this Car-Free Day event is to promote green transportation, reduce carbon emissions, and encourage the public to participate in healthy outdoor activities. The event features a variety of activities, including a Fun Ride (bicycle ride), Brisk Walk, Zumba, Taekwondo, Tai Chi, street Sepak Takraw, street football, street pickleball, traditional archery, as well as a mobile library, catering to all ages.

The City Council stated in a press release that it apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the road closure and calls on residents to actively cooperate and participate to jointly promote the city's goals for environmental protection and sustainable development.
