(Bintulu, 20th) – An elderly man has been missing since he left his home at Tubau Jelalong Sungai Sekijang on Monday morning and has not yet returned.
The missing person is identified as Ni Ya Ling·Ming Gu, 75 years old. As he has not returned home, his family has filed a police report.
The spokesperson for the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Operations Center (PGO) stated that they received the report at 6:59 AM on the 19th.
He said that the Bintulu District Police Headquarters (IPD) first received a report of a suspected missing person case and subsequently relayed the information to the Bintulu Fire Station (BBP).
“The Bintulu Fire Station's Operations Control Team (PKO) was immediately ordered to head to the scene with the Tubau Police to conduct a search and rescue (SAR) operation,” he said in a statement today.
It is understood that it takes about 3 hours to reach the incident location, a distance of approximately 130 kilometers, mainly via plantation roads.
Meanwhile, the missing person's son revealed that his father left home at about 8 AM on Monday morning and had not returned by that evening, which caused the family great concern.
“Villagers also joined in the search, but so far, the missing person has not been found,” he said.
