The US Embassy in Iraq, located in the 'Green Zone' of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, was attacked in the early hours of the 17th local time, causing facilities inside the compound to catch fire.
A security official indicated that three drones and four rockets targeted the embassy, with at least one drone crashing inside the compound.
According to AFP, black smoke rose from the embassy complex after explosions, and air defense forces also intercepted another drone.
From the evening of the 16th until the early hours of the 17th, the US Embassy in Iraq was subjected to multiple rounds of attacks.
