Taiwanese celebrity Mickey Huang's entertainment career was severely impacted by the MeToo incident, and in October this year he also confirmed his divorce from actress Summer Meng. He was convicted in the first trial for possessing pornographic videos of 47 underage girls and was sentenced to eight months in prison and fined 100,000 TWD (approximately 13,000 MYR). After appealing to the second trial, he has worked hard to obtain a suspended sentence and, to date, has reached settlements with 30 victims. On the 24th, Mickey Huang, through his lawyer, issued a public statement: “On behalf of our client Mr. Huang, we thank all victims for their understanding and that full settlements have been reached.”
The lawyer’s statement mentioned that the client (Mickey Huang) said: “I have realized that every sexual image of a child or adolescent represents a bloody story, and it causes a lifetime of trauma to the minors involved. If there were no downloads, there would be no supply. I have deeply and sincerely repented for my wrongdoing years ago and pray for the forgiveness of every victim. I also express my deepest apologies for the further physical and mental harm caused to victims during the litigation process.”
