After announcing the suspension of reciprocal tariffs on countries other than China, U.S. President Trump stated on the 9th that he expects to reach a trade agreement with China and other countries.
He told reporters at the White House: "We will reach an agreement with China, and we will reach agreements with all countries."
He stated: "China wants to make a deal, but they don’t know how."
He insisted, "It is unimaginable" for tariffs on China to increase more than they already have.
Trump Calls for Calm
Earlier, Trump wrote on his social media platform "Truth Social" to calm market sentiments.
He said: "Stay calm, everything will be fine. The United States will be stronger and better than ever."
He made this statement after China and the European Union announced retaliatory tariffs on the United States.
Trump even encouraged investors: "Now is the right time to buy the dip!"
