Flood Levels Continue to Rise in Southern Thailand

Most areas across 10 provinces in southern Thailand continue to experience severe flooding, with water levels rising further. Heavy rainfall is expected to persist in the region on the 25th.

Thailand's Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation reported on the morning of the 24th that flooding in 10 southern provinces is ongoing, with water levels in most areas continuing to rise.

The 10 provinces still affected by flooding are Surat Thani, Krabi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, Phatthalung, Satun, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat.

Authorities noted that the highest number of affected households is in Songkhla (243,568 households), followed by Nakhon Si Thammarat (210,950 households).

Apart from Surat Thani and Krabi, where the floods have subsided, water levels in other southern provinces continue to rise. The flooded areas in Narathiwat and Yala are expected to expand.

The meteorological department stated that heavy rainfall in low-lying areas of the south will continue until the 25th.
