(Miri, 30th) The organizing committee for the sixth "722 Sarawak Day" blood donation event held a review meeting last night at the Miri Xingyang Cheng Clan Association, bringing together members from various working groups to reflect on the event's preparation and execution, share achievements and challenges, and brainstorm ideas to better prepare for next year's seventh edition.
The meeting began with a welcome speech from a representative of the Miri Cheng Clan Youth Group. Chief coordinator Xie Jiahong then delivered a speech, followed by the approval of minutes from previous meetings, as well as reports from the secretariat, finance, publicity, and general affairs teams. The discussion also covered sponsorship coordination, poster and T-shirt design, and other matters and ad hoc motions.
Founder of the "I Love Sarawak Day" blood donation event, chief coordinator, and president of the Miri Dapu Clan Youth Group, Xie Jiahong, stated that the successful completion of the sixth edition was due to the strong cooperation between all participating organizations and youth group members. He expressed gratitude to those who attended the review meeting for their enthusiastic participation in discussions and candid feedback and suggestions.
He pointed out that the post-event review meeting held after each year's activity is extremely important, as the measure of an event's success is not just in its immediate results, but also in whether shortcomings are acknowledged and improvements are sought during the review process.
He said that it is difficult for large-scale events to be perfect and that everyone is still learning and growing. Every suggestion made is aimed at making the next event even better.
Xie Jiahong emphasized that the significance of the "722 Sarawak Day" blood donation event lies not only in the number of donors or the amount of blood collected, but more importantly, in providing a platform for the youth group to jointly plan, execute, and grow together. During the preparation process, members learn communication and coordination, take on responsibilities, and support each other in the face of difficulties—these experiences will become valuable assets for future development.
He also hopes that a more robust operating system can be established in the future, so that the event can become a sustainable, heritage brand that does not depend on any individual, but is passed on through successive youth groups.
He said that even if he is no longer the youth group president in the future, he still hopes that the "722 Sarawak Day" blood donation event can continue to be held and improve year by year.
He once again thanked all participating organizations, youth group members, and behind-the-scenes staff for their contributions, expressing his hope for continued collaboration next year to make the seventh edition even more exciting and meaningful.
