(Miri, 30th) In order to promote China’s outstanding traditional culture with a history of more than 5,000 years and to celebrate the annual Mid-Autumn Festival, the Sarawak Miri Lin Clan Association will hold the “Bingwu Welcoming the Bright Moon Mid-Autumn Reunion” Celebration and Newborn Bonus Award Dinner on September 20 (Sunday) at 6:00 PM at the Lin Yong Xue Couple Grand Hall on the third floor of the association’s building.
This event is organized by the board of directors on a rotating basis, with the association’s Public Relations Director Lim Bi Ying serving as Organizing Committee Chairperson. Currently, preparations for all aspects of the event are being actively carried out.
The celebration aims to promote the fine traditional Chinese culture, unite clan kinship, and express congratulations and encouragement to families with new members. The program will be rich and colorful, including cultural and entertainment performances, lantern parade, and traditional lantern riddle games, which are expected to bring a warm and joyful Mid-Autumn night to clan members.
The association’s president, Lim Siew Hua, pointed out that the Mid-Autumn Festival symbolizes reunion, harmony, and inheritance, and is one of the key festivals for strengthening clan ties. She called on all members to participate enthusiastically with their families and enjoy the festival together. The registration fee is RM5 per person; elders aged 70 or above and children aged 6 or below can participate for free but must register in advance for event arrangements.
She also revealed that the Newborn Bonus Award presentation will be held during the event. Those who are life members or spouses of life members and have a newborn between September 1, 2025 and August 31, 2026 should bring the original and copy of the newborn’s birth certificate to the association's fourth floor secretariat to apply by September 7, 2026.
In addition, the event will provide buffet dinner, Mid-Autumn mooncakes, and a variety of delicious food and fruit to share the joy of the festival with clan members and create a strong festive atmosphere.
