The new house she purchased became an abandoned building. To defend her own and other residents’ rights, a Chinese wife-turned-influencer began filming videos and uploading them to Douyin. However, because of her hot figure, the videos drew massive attention from netizens. As the influencer effect snowballed, the local government quickly stepped in to investigate and resolve the issue, and now there are signs that construction work is resuming.
According to Chinese media reports, the woman in question, after marrying her husband, bought a presale apartment in the 'Zhongyuan Yufu Garden' community in Zaozhuang City, China. Unexpectedly, the project experienced severe delays and the handover date was postponed repeatedly. After more than three years, the building still hasn’t been completed, turning their dream of moving into a new home into a disappointment.
Since she already paid the down payment and still had to continue paying the mortgage, she was under heavy financial pressure. So, she opened a Douyin account called 'Dongqi & Wusong' to document and share her experience.
The videos are personally filmed by her, showing the current state of the community and explaining the construction halts and the pressure she faces. Unexpectedly, netizens missed the point and focused instead on her curvy figure and her confident on-camera presence, leading to a surge in followers and skyrocketing the abandoned building incident to internet fame.
Due to the influencer effect, the case finally drew the attention of relevant Zaozhuang authorities. The local government intervened and required the developer to propose solutions to the abandoned building problem, demanding accelerated handling of follow-up construction issues.
Local media reported that construction has shown signs of restarting and is making gradual progress.
However, after this phase of success, many fans worried she would stop updating her videos. To address fans’ expectations, she publicly responded that she would continue sharing her life and the process of defending her rights. In recent videos, she can often be seen visiting the construction site in person, checking the progress, filming herself bringing drinks to the workers, and capturing cheerful interactions with them.
