The Fujairah Oil Industrial Zone in the UAE was attacked by a drone on the 4th, resulting in three injuries.
The Fujairah media office issued a statement on the 4th, noting that a drone coming from the direction of Iran attacked the Fujairah Oil Industrial Zone, causing a fire and moderately injuring three Indian nationals. The injured have been sent to the hospital for necessary treatment.
The UAE issued multiple alerts to the public on the 4th via mobile phones, claiming there was a "potential missile threat" and urging the public to take immediate precautionary measures.
The UAE Ministry of Defense also announced that evening that the country's air defense systems had successfully intercepted 12 ballistic missiles, 3 cruise missiles, and 4 drones on the same day, all coming from the direction of Iran.
This incident marks the first related attack on the UAE since the temporary ceasefire between the US, Israel, and Iran on April 8.
Iran Denies Involvement, Warns UAE Not to Take Improper Actions
Nevertheless, an unnamed Iranian military source denied that the fire at the Fujairah Oil Industrial Zone was related to Iran and, in response to reports about the UAE threatening to strike Iran, warned the UAE not to take any improper actions.
According to Iranian radio and television reports, this Iranian military source said Iran had not pre-planned any attack targeting the Fujairah Oil Industrial Zone. The incident was the result of American military adventurism, and the US should be held responsible.
He accused the US of attempting to create a passage for ships to illegally transit restricted waters in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Tasnim News Agency, the military source said that for now, reports about the UAE threatening to strike Iran are mostly based on media quoting anonymous sources. There has yet to be an official threat from the UAE, but if the UAE becomes a tool for Israel and takes improper action, Iran would respond harshly, all UAE interests could become targets, and facilities within the UAE would no longer be safe.
The source stated that the UAE is well aware of its own security situation. If it makes the wrong choice, Iran will no longer exercise restraint and will treat the UAE as part of Israel in its response.
