At noon on the 28th, a passenger plane that had gone missing in the northern part of Colombia’s Norte de Santander Department has been confirmed to have crashed, with all 15 people on board perishing.
The Unified Command of Norte de Santander Department stated on the 28th that the crashed aircraft went down in a rural area of the municipality of La Playa de Belén. Rescue personnel at the scene confirmed that there were no survivors among the 15 people on board, which included 13 passengers and 2 crew members.
According to local media reports, the ill-fated aircraft took off at around 11:42 a.m. local time from Cúcuta, a border city in Colombia, and was scheduled to arrive in Ocaña at 12:05 p.m. However, it lost contact with the ground at 11:54 a.m. The flight number was NSE8849, and the model was a Beech 1900.
