(Kuching, 17th) The Sarawak Cabinet will not be reshuffled!
Despite changes in several top leadership positions announced at the 16th Delegates Conference of the Sarawak PBB on Sunday, there will be no reshuffle in the Sarawak Cabinet for now.
Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari told reporters after the meeting that all minister and deputy minister positions would be retained, including Datuk Seri Abdul Karim who would continue to hold the positions of Sarawak Minister of Youth, Sports and Talent Development as well as Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts.
In this election, Abdul Karim unexpectedly lost his original position in the 6-to-4 vice chairman race.
“There is no reshuffle in the Sarawak Cabinet because this matter is unrelated to our decision to reshuffle the Cabinet. He will continue to hold both ministerial positions.”
The Sarawak Premier added that all unsuccessful candidates would continue to work alongside the Sarawak PBB to promote the development of Sarawak.
Speaking about the establishment of the Supreme Council, which includes the chairman, deputy chairman, and senior vice chairman, and chaired by PBB's Chairman Abang Johari, he said,
“All present agreed and proposed that the chairman, deputy chairman, and senior vice chairman serve as members of this committee.”
