Trump Releases Image: Maduro Escorted onto US Navy Assault Ship

(United States, 4th) — On the 3rd, US President Trump posted a photo on the social media platform “Truth Social,” in which Venezuelan President Maduro is seen wearing a tracksuit and an eye mask. The caption reads: “Maduro aboard the US Navy’s Iwo Jima amphibious assault ship.”

Maduro also has protective headphones on his ears and appears to be raising a water bottle with both hands to drink. Next to him is a person wearing a jacket emblazoned with the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) insignia.

CNN reported, citing a federal official, that the plane carrying Maduro and his wife has arrived at Stewart Air National Guard Base in New York.

An official from the US Department of Justice stated that Maduro is expected to make his initial court appearance at the Manhattan Federal Court on the 5th.

The US Department of Justice noted that Maduro faces charges including narco-terrorism conspiracy, possession of machine guns, and other offenses against the US. The Maduro couple has been indicted by the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
