The Panama Specialty Coffee Association announced on the 7th that at the 2025 'Best of Panama' online auction held that day, a batch of washed Geisha coffee from Hacienda La Esmeralda Estate was sold for USD 30,204 per kilogram (approximately MYR 127,925), setting a new record for coffee auction unit price.
This batch of washed Geisha coffee weighed 20 kilograms in total, with a final total price of USD 604,000.
According to Hacienda La Esmeralda's Coffee Director, Peterson, this coffee showcases rich flavors such as guava, white peach, and jasmine fragrance, with complex acidity and a long-lasting finish.
The auction started at 6 p.m. local time on the 6th, with a total of 50 lots and 1,000 kilograms of coffee sold, achieving a total transaction value of USD 2,861,000. The average price per kilogram reached USD 2,861.20, also setting a historic high.
The president of the Panama Specialty Coffee Association, Koyner, said that buyers from around the world participated in the auction, which fully affirms the unique quality of Panamanian coffee.
