NSJA Receives Grant for 50th Anniversary Celebration

(Miri, 22) The Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) received a grant of RM5,000 from the Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring) and Marudi constituency representative Dato Gerawat Gala on Friday to support the association's activities and development.

 

Dato Gerawat Gala handed over the cheque at his service center in Jalan Miri Pujut, where NSJA Secretary Jennifer Laeng led members of the association for a courtesy visit and accepted the grant.

 

NSJA President Chai Chon Chin thanked Deputy Minister Dato Gerawat for his long-standing support and stated that this year marks an important milestone as the association celebrates its 50th anniversary.

 

“We are about to host a 50th-anniversary gala dinner, during which we will honor former presidents and journalists who have served the news industry for more than 10 years, to appreciate their contributions to the industry.” 

 

Additionally, during the visit, NSJA officially invited Gerawat to attend the 50th-anniversary gala dinner. The dinner is scheduled to be held on April 25 at the Mega Hotel in Miri, where media personnel will gather to celebrate this significant occasion.
