(Hanoi, 11th) The Vietnam Navy's 016 'Quang Trung' missile frigate set sail from Cam Ranh Military Port in Khanh Hoa Province on the afternoon of August 10th, heading to Penang, Malaysia to participate in the third ASEAN Multilateral Naval Exercise (AMNEX-3).
The Vietnamese naval delegation on this visit is led by Senior Colonel Nguyen Vinh Nam, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 4. According to the schedule, while in Malaysia, the 'Quang Trung' will take part in port-call ceremonies, ship review, street parade, naval technical meetings, and a series of at-sea drill subjects, including formation maneuvering and replenishment, responding to fast craft security threats, and aerial formation photography.
This mission aims to implement the directives of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on deepening international defense cooperation. Through the exercise, it seeks to enhance coordination in responding to maritime security challenges, strengthen ties and mutual trust among ASEAN navies, and contribute to regional peace and development.
