Exercise Can Maintain Physical and Mental Health and Help Reduce Stress

(Miri, 19th) Sarawak Deputy Minister of Tourism, Dato Chen Chia You, stated that sports are an important way to maintain physical and mental health, enhance physical fitness, boost immunity, and help reduce stress while maintaining mental well-being.

He urged the public to actively participate in various sports activities, cultivate a healthy lifestyle, thereby improving the quality of life, and encouraged more people to engage in sports activities to enhance physical health and team spirit.

“Through participating in sports competitions, athletes not only exercise their bodies but also make significant progress in teamwork and strategic planning, showcasing the unique value of sports in shaping personal qualities and promoting community cohesion.”

Chen Chia You said this while attending the award ceremony of the 2024 Sarawak Dodgeball Open organized by Curtin University Malaysia Dodgeball Association.

He stated that the competition brought together teams from different regions, including teams from Kuala Lumpur, Brunei, Penang, Kuching, and Miri, demonstrating the exceptional sportsmanship and competitive level of the athletes.

He pointed out that such events not only help promote sports culture but also provide a platform for local communities to exchange, promoting cross-cultural understanding and friendship.
