(Bandar Seri Begawan, 14th) The Royal Brunei Police Force reminds the public that recently, forged investigation notification letters have been circulating, in which scammers pose as PPDB officers and use fake police IDs to commit fraud.
The letters claim that recipients are involved in criminal investigations and attempt to extort money, bank details, and personal information through threats. PPDB emphasizes that these letters were not issued by the police, and the public should not trust them or provide any sensitive information.
If the public receives suspicious letters, calls, or messages, they should immediately verify with the anti-fraud hotline 16993, the police emergency hotline 993, or the nearest police station.
