Outstanding 2025 O-Level Results: Multiple Subject Excellence Among Yizhong Students

(Kuala Belait, 9th) The official results of the 2025 Brunei Cambridge G.C.E. “O” Level Examination were released recently. This year, a total of 73 candidates from Chung Hua Middle School, Kuala Belait (Yizhong) sat for the exams. Among them, 65.75% achieved at least 5 distinction grades, while 31.51% attained at least 8 distinction grades. The overall performance was steady and the results are highly encouraging.
The school stated that the success in this year’s examination was not only due to the students’ diligence and self-discipline, but was also attributed to the long-term dedication of the teaching team, active cooperation from parents, and continuous support from the board of directors for the school's educational development. These factors have created a positive learning environment that motivates students to constantly make academic breakthroughs.
Impressive Distinction Rates Across Multiple Subjects, Well-Rounded Academic Performance
In terms of subject performance, Yizhong students achieved outstanding results in multiple disciplines. Notably, the distinction rates for Mandarin (IGCSE Mandarin as a Foreign Language 0547) and Physics both reached 100%, demonstrating a solid foundation in both language and science fields.
In addition, the distinction rates for Biology and Chemistry were both as high as 97.73%. Additional Mathematics had a distinction rate of 86.36%, Computer Science 82.35%, and Mathematics (Core) achieved a distinction rate of 79.10%. In the Humanities, English had a distinction rate of 75.34%, Accounting 67.65%, Geography 58.14%, while Malay and Combined Science attained distinction rates of 54.29% and 51.72% respectively. On the whole, students' performances were especially outstanding in science, mathematics, and language subjects, reflecting the effectiveness of the school’s curriculum planning and teaching.
Outstanding Students Stand Out, Many Attain Excellent Results Across All Subjects
In this year’s examination, multiple Yizhong students delivered exceptional performances, achieving distinctions in numerous subjects. Among them, Aiden Paul Leo Nereparambil stood out most, securing an impressive 10As (9A* 1A); Hannaley Voon Zi Han also attained 10As (8A* 2A), with remarkable results.

Principal's Message: Laying Solid Foundations, Aiming for Greater Goals
Dr. Chang Gui Juan, Principal of Yizhong, stated that the 2025 O-Level results once again attest to the school’s dedication in educational management, curriculum planning, and student development. She emphasized that the students’ achievements reflect not only their own hard work, but are also the collective result of the teachers’ professional commitment, the long-term support of parents, and the trust and cooperation of the board.
She further encouraged students that regardless of their results, everyone should treat this as a stage summary and continue to strive for improvement. The school will continue to optimize its teaching systems and focus on comprehensive student development, dedicated to nurturing new-generation students with solid academic foundations and a sense of social responsibility.
