38-year-old South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun, due to being embroiled in an underage relationship scandal in 2025 involving the late actress Kim Sae-ron, suffered a total collapse of his public image. This has also affected the brands he endorses, with several filing breach of contract lawsuits for compensation. A scheduled court hearing with one of the cosmetic brands was set for yesterday, but was postponed again due to matters related to Kim Soo-hyun, drawing much attention.
According to Korean media reports, the third trial session for the damages lawsuit between Kim Soo-hyun and cosmetics brand Company A was originally scheduled, but Kim Soo-hyun's lawyer confirmed that the court decided to postpone the hearing date (rescheduled proceedings), citing the need to first observe the final outcome of the related 'criminal case.'
This case originated when Company A alleged that Kim Soo-hyun violated the 'conduct maintenance' clause in their advertising contract, demanding that Kim Soo-hyun and his agency compensate for massive losses up to 2.86 billion KRW (about 76.6 billion MYR).
