Jointly initiated by local musicians, the Music Boleh Mandarin Music Alliance has officially announced the launch of the ‘MUSIC BOLEH Music Awards’ (MALAYSIA MUSIC BOLEH AWARDS, abbreviated as MMBA). The awards comprise 15 categories, aiming to unite local musicians and outstanding works, while also aspiring to bring more Malaysian music to the world.
Music Boleh Mandarin Music Alliance president Zheng Kewang pointed out that since its establishment in 2021, the alliance has been hoping to promote a Mandarin music awards ceremony belonging to Malaysian musicians, but the process has faced many challenges. He remarked that the greatest difficulty was finding like-minded businesses that believe in the value of the cultural industry. “This time, I’m very happy and thankful to have met corporate partners who support us and recognize the value of local music. Your support and approval are the strength we need the most.” He also stated that every awards ceremony held is a rare moment of unity for musicians, “Such grand occasions are truly precious.”

Speaking about the declaration of this year’s ‘MUSIC BOLEH Music Awards’: “Local Honor”, he explained, “It’s about taking root locally, being recognized by local people, and thereby earning your own honor.” He emphasized the hope that this award can help local musicians reconnect, forming a stronger force. “Many talented creators are working hard in different places; we hope they can get to know and interact with each other, generate more energy, and help more outstanding Malaysian music works reach the world.”
The upcoming ceremony will feature 15 award categories, including: Top Ten Hits Award, CNY Song Award, Best Arrangement Award, Best Lyricist Award, Best Composer Award, Best Single Production Award, Best Album Production Award, Best Band Award, Best Music Video Award, Newcomer Recommendation Award, Judges’ Special Recommendation Award, Song of the Year Award, Best Vocal Group Award, Best Male Vocalist Award, and Best Female Vocalist Award.
