(Bandar Seri Begawan, 14th) The Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) hereby notifies the public that the BDCB alert list has been updated, listing entities, including companies and individuals, that are not licensed, authorized, or regulated by the Bank.
Authorities stated that the purpose of publishing this list is to raise public awareness and prevent the mistaken belief that the individuals or companies on the list have been approved, authorized, or regulated by BDCB.
BDCB reserves the right to further assess the activities of these related entities.
The companies or related entities newly included in the updated alert list are: Brunei Capital Financing (Facebook page), Capital Financing BN, Pinjaman Wang Brunei, and Syarikat Loan Wang Trusted.
Authorities remind the public that the updated alert list can now be viewed on the official BDCB website.
The Brunei Central Bank urges the public to transact only with licensed financial institutions and to remain vigilant against any financial services offered by unlicensed companies or individuals.
The financial services regulated by BDCB include remittance, currency exchange, lending, and pawn services.
Authorities also remind the public that anyone choosing to transact with unlicensed or unregulated entities will not be protected under the BDCB regulatory framework.
