At midnight on January 1st, a New Year's Eve fireworks show was held at Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong, attracting more than 400,000 Hong Kong residents and tourists to welcome the arrival of 2025.

With the advent of the new year, the "Hong Kong New Year Countdown Fireworks Show," organized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, was staged over Victoria Harbour. One dazzling display after another lit up the sky; the show, themed "Symphony of Happiness," was divided into five scenes, depicting the elements of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth.

During the 12-minute-long fireworks display, the cheering along both sides of the harbour was incessant, with people shouting "Happy New Year" and many applauding.

After the show, Secretary for Security Chris Tang said the event attracted over 400,000 spectators along the shores of Victoria Harbour.
