Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying said that if one day the voters and the party grassroots no longer need the "Lim family," she plainly stated, "We are ready to step down."

She mentioned that the existence of the "Lim family" is because of the DAP, so whether the "Lim family" era has ended entirely depends on the party grassroots.

"On this issue, at the party level, it is for the party grassroots to decide, at the national level, it is for the voters to decide."

"If party representatives and voters think they no longer need our services, we are prepared to step down."

She stated that every politician must have the correct mindset, and if it's time to step down, although it might be saddening, it must be accepted.

Also the Member of Parliament for Tanjung and Penang State DAP Secretary, Lim Hui Ying, candidly spoke about the "Lim family era" while visiting the press with Penang State DAP Chairman Chow Kon Yeow on Friday.

She also said that no matter where she goes, she cannot shake off being "Lim Kit Siang's daughter" and "Lim Guan Eng's sister," but for her, this identity is an honor.

"Having the fortune to be Lim Kit Siang's daughter is a great, great honor, not everyone can be Lim Kit Siang's daughter."

She also mentioned that her way of doing things is different from her father's and brother's, and she does not deliberately follow their styles; she has her own approach.

"I handle matters more low-key, doing what I am supposed to do."
