(Seria, 12th) – Seria Chung Hwa Middle School recently organized a one-day ecological study activity for Grade 6 and 8 students at Temburong Periunan Park, successfully allowing students to get close to nature, cultivate environmental awareness, and build team spirit.
This event involved a total of 86 teachers and students. Under the guidance of their teachers, the students observed and fed animals such as eagles, turkeys, and goats in the park, learning about friendly animal interactions and basic ecological knowledge. The subsequent group challenge games effectively trained the students’ teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
An additional nature exploration segment was specially arranged, guiding students to recognize and photograph unique plants within the park, giving them a firsthand experience of biodiversity. In the afternoon handicraft session, students utilized discarded plastic bottles to make eco-friendly windmills and painted stones, combining environmental concepts with artistic creation to gain a deeper understanding of the value of resource reuse.
Regarding the educational significance of this activity, Principal Zhang Guijuan stated: “We always emphasize integrating classroom learning with practical life experiences. This outdoor study is not only a time for students to relax, but also a vivid lesson in environmental education. Seeing the children actively exploring in nature and learning to cooperate through tasks is exactly the result we look forward to as we implement holistic education.”
The activity concluded successfully with the active participation of teachers and students. Through practice, students enhanced their environmental awareness, improved team spirit, and gained a valuable learning experience.
