The Court of Appeal allowed former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Legal Affairs) Datuk Seri Takiyuddin to participate as an observer in the appeal case regarding former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib's home detention.

Takiyuddin, a practicing lawyer, represented the opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, the Vice President of PAS and Terengganu Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri, as well as the Vice President of Bersatu Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee in court.

At the beginning of Monday's (January 6) hearing at 9:25 AM, this PAS Secretary-General and Member of Parliament for Kota Bharu stated that his attendance was on behalf of Members of Parliament to address an issue that had been widely debated in the parliament.

He said that on December 10, the government allowed this issue regarding the supplementary order to be discussed during the Prime Minister's Question Time, but during the Prime Minister's Question Time in parliament, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar refused to elaborate on Najib's supplementary order issue, citing it as being under judicial review.

“Based on our understanding of the government's stance, we need to come (to the court) to understand this issue.”

Takiyuddin stated, “We seek to observe during this hearing.”
