Love Dispute Nearly Turns Tragic: Woman’s Suicide Attempt Discovered in Time

(Kuala Lumpur, 27th) A tragedy sparked by a love dispute almost ended in death!
A 32-year-old Vietnamese woman allegedly attempted a double suicide after her boyfriend found a new lover and forbade her from visiting their children. Overcome by emotion, she was fortunately discovered in time and rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
The incident took place at an apartment unit in the outskirts of Jalan Old Klang Lama in the capital. According to Assistant Superintendent Hu Changfu from the Brickfields Police District, police received a public report at 8:31 p.m. on Friday (26th) stating that someone had received a photo of a woman with an electric wire around her neck, and immediately contacted the Fire and Rescue Department and medical personnel to rush to the scene.
He stated that when rescuers arrived, they found both the front door and windows of the unit unlocked. Upon entry, they discovered a woman unconscious on a mattress in the living room.
“Preliminary investigation shows the woman is suspected to have taken medication and then tried to hang herself with an electric wire. Medical staff administered immediate aid on site. Once she regained consciousness, she was sent to Kuala Lumpur General Hospital for further treatment.”

Hu Changfu pointed out that police investigations found that the woman claimed her Chinese boyfriend had started a new relationship and was not allowing her to see their two children, which left her emotionally distressed and led to her suicide attempt.

He added that the police will summon the man to take his statement and provide guidance, to help both parties resolve their disputes peacefully.
