(Kuching, 24th) — Australia’s Northern Territory Minister for Trade, Business and Asian Engagement, Robin Cahill, arrived in Kuching today to commence a four-day working visit aimed at further consolidating bilateral relations between Sarawak and the Northern Territory of Australia.
This visit focuses on tourism, culture, and community exchange, and also covers strengthening diplomatic ties and social interaction.
At 11am this morning, accompanied by accompanying official Yasmin, Minister Cahill began her itinerary with a visit to the Borneo Cultures Museum (BCM).
At the museum, she listened to a detailed briefing on Sarawak’s diverse ethnic history and cultural collections, gaining in-depth understanding of interactive exhibits and heritage items from the Dayak, Malay, Melanau and Chinese communities.
In addition to the cultural tour, Minister Cahill also held a bilateral meeting at noon with Sarawak Deputy Premier Dato Amar Awang Tengah at the Natural Resources Building to discuss further collaboration.
In the evening, she will attend a welcome dinner hosted by another Sarawak Deputy Premier, Dato Amar Dr. Sim Kui Hian, further strengthening exchanges and friendship between Australia and Sarawak.
