Immigration Department Cracks Down on Illegal Immigrants, Accidentally Uncovering Numbered 'Secret Brothel'

(Selangor, 25th) The Immigration Department launched a large-scale operation to crack down on illegal foreign immigrants, during which it uncovered foreign women engaging in prostitution activities in shoplot units, providing 'one-night intimacy' for 'passersby'.
This 'illegal nightclub' offering 'wine and pleasure' mainly served local lorry drivers and foreign laborers working nearby. To avoid detection, illegal operators used a numbering system for customers to select prostitutes.
Starting from 9:30pm on Wednesday (24th), 242 officers from the Selangor Immigration Department, police, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, Police Air Unit, Klang Royal Town City Council, and National Registration Department conducted a four-hour large-scale operation against illegal foreigners in nine shop apartment buildings with over a hundred units in the Pulau Indah Industrial Zone, unexpectedly uncovering this brothel.
According to sources, this unit located on the third floor had been operating prostitution for over six months, with 'business hours' lasting from evening till late at night. The involved women were from Indonesia, Vietnam, and Myanmar, charging between 150 and 300 ringgit.
It is understood that each room in the three-story unit rents for between 400 and 700 ringgit, but had already been converted into 13 'air-conditioned cubicles'.
This prostitution den, operated by locals, also offered alcohol. The unit on the second floor secretly stored a large quantity of smuggled liquor in a hidden storeroom, suspected to provide extra amusement for customers, effectively turning it into an 'illegal nightclub'.
Authorities discovered that the brothel’s 'security measures' were quite strict, with CCTV installed from the ground floor to the 'secret base', and lookouts stationed at the entrance. If any trouble was sensed, they would quickly notify prostitutes and customers to quietly leave.
Therefore, when officers carried out the raid, the unit was already empty, leaving behind only clothes, leftover food, used condoms, and wet tissues scattered around.
Leading the team, Selangor Immigration Director Khairul Aminus Kamaruddin told reporters that authorities would continue to investigate the case and work with local agencies to eliminate such immoral activities.
When enforcement began, illegal foreign workers even jumped from the third floor, hid in drains, and escaped into garbage rooms, but in the end could not evade capture and were one by one detained by already deployed officers.

Khairul Aminus said that after four months of investigation, authorities joined other agencies on Wednesday night to launch this large-scale operation against illegal immigrants and inspected 1,132 people.
He said that during the operation, 662 people aged between 16 and 80 were detained, consisting of 643 males and 19 females. They were from Indonesia (643), Bangladesh (150), Pakistan (35), Myanmar (36), Nepal (24), and India (10).
He stated that the offenses committed included not having documents, violating visa conditions, overstaying, and using unrecognized cards. They were brought to the Selangor Immigration Department for investigation and then sent to the Semenyih detention center.
'The accommodation for foreign laborers was also not up to standard, and this matter has been handed over to the Labor Department.'
Khairul Aminus said the case is being investigated under the Immigration Act 1959/63, Passport Act 1966, Immigration Regulations 1963, and the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007.
He added that some employers brought the passports of foreign workers as proof of their legal documents, which shows not all employers are breaking the law.
He urged the public and employers not to harbor illegal immigrants. Although the country needs foreign labor, they must comply with laws and work legally. The department will continue to conduct operations throughout Selangor.
