Russian President Putin's envoy, Dmitriev, said at an investment conference held in Saudi Arabia that the war in Ukraine will end within a year.

According to foreign media reports, Dmitriev made the above statement after meeting with U.S. government officials last weekend. Previously, the summit between Trump and Putin was announced to be postponed.
Dmitriev, who is also the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, told attendees in the Saudi capital Riyadh: "We are confident that we are on the path to peace, and as peacemakers, we must facilitate the realization of peace."
When asked whether peace in Ukraine could be achieved within a year, Dmitriev replied: "I believe it can."
During his time in the United States, Dmitriev said that Russia and the U.S. are close to reaching a "diplomatic solution" on the issue of the war.
Dmitriev praised the cooperation among the U.S., Saudi Arabia, and Russia—three of the world's major natural resource holders—and said this cooperation would make the world safer.
Dmitriev said: "Currently, attention is focused on the conflicts around Russia, but we do not want it to escalate into a larger-scale conflict. For this, we must do better than before, not worse."
