China and the United States have different national conditions, so some disagreements are inevitable. As the world’s two largest economies, occasional frictions are normal.
He said: “Faced with wind and waves and challenges, President Trump and I, as helmsmen, should keep a firm grip on direction and the overall situation, so as to let the ship of China-U.S. relations sail steadily forward.”

Xi Jinping emphasized that China’s development and rejuvenation and President Trump’s goal of ‘Making America Great Again’ are not mutually exclusive. China and the United States can fully achieve mutual success and shared prosperity.
He said: “China and the United States should be partners and friends. This is the lesson of history and also a current necessity. I am willing to continue working with President Trump to lay a solid foundation for China-U.S. relations and also to create a favorable environment for the development of our respective countries.”
