Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar stated that peace and clean governance are important prerequisites to ensure the country continues to achieve strong economic performance. As long as misappropriation of public funds and corrupt practices can be thoroughly eradicated, the nation will be able to rise and fully unleash its potential.
“We can rise. Malaysia has tremendous potential, and among ASEAN, Malaysia's economic potential ranks among the top, and the Ringgit's performance is also among the strongest in Asia.”
Therefore, he believes that this achievement must be defended and not be distracted by problems or divisive racial debates.
He pointed this out in his speech on Saturday (14th) in Ipoh at the launch of the "National Family Care Policy" (DKKN).
Economic Development Should Not Overlook the Family
On the other hand, Anwar also mentioned that at present, economic development should not ignore the role of the family institution, because the family is the main pillar in shaping values, morals, and social unity.
He pointed out that value and moral education should start from the family, with early teaching by parents. Parents should not only provide love and care, but more importantly, be good role models for their children.
"That is why I support and encourage all ministries to focus on cultivating healthy and virtuous families, and DKKN also serves as a reminder for us. While we are busy fundraising, building national strength, introducing advanced education systems and modern facilities, we must not underestimate or ignore the fundamental role of family education and love. It is the starting point and cornerstone."
Therefore, he stated, all sectors must strengthen family education and treat it as the cornerstone of nation-building.
Attendees included the Prime Minister's wife Datuk Seri Wan Azizah, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, as well as Perak Chief Minister Datuk Seri Saarani.
